Do I have to connect my pharmacy system?
No. You can type patients in or upload a spreadsheet exported from your pharmacy system. Most stores are set up in an afternoon.
Do we have to connect RefillGuard to our pharmacy software?
No. In month one, our team helps you download your patient list. On that same call we set up a secure file transfer or email from your pharmacy system to ours, so we receive your updated list every month. New patients get checked automatically, and patients you no longer serve drop off, so no one slips through the cracks and no one's time goes to old records.
What exactly does it check?
Whether the insurance you have on file for each patient is still active, and for Medicare patients, whether they're still in the same plan. When coverage has ended, we flag it so you can get the new card. It doesn't check whether a specific drug is covered; your claim at fill time still does that.
How is this different from what my pharmacy software already does?
Your software checks coverage when you bill the prescription, with the patient standing at the counter. RefillGuard checks days or weeks earlier, so you have time to fix it quietly.
